Day 16 – What creature would you use as your familiar?
This is a hard one for me. There are a few and picking one would be difficult.
My favourite creature on the face of this planet is the timber wolf, followed closely by the otter. But neither of these are amongst the creatures listed in Find Familiar: bat, cat, crab, frog/toad, hawk, lizard, octopus, owl, poisonous snake, fish, rat, raven, sea horse, spider or weasel.
Boring. Well, mostly boring. Having an octopus familiar would actually quite cool (and would help me predict the World Cup) but not terribly practical trekking across the deserts of Araby. Owls are gorgeous creatures but are cliched AF. I’d probably go with a bat. Bats are fascinating creatures – creepy, but fascinating.
But I’m the DM, so I get to make the rules…
I think therefore, by the slightest of margins, that would put the Timber Wolf just in front.
