The Bugle Call

This year, I am running a wargaming convention over the Easter long weekend. I was involved in helping with organising last year’s event, but this year I have taken on the role of coordinator and chairman of the committee.

The event is called the Bugle Call and is focusing on historical wargaming mostly, although there will be a number of other games along for the ride. We’ve arranged to have around 15 participation games in action as well as 10 tables set up for a tournament for Flames of War, so it’s more than tripled in size since last year’s event. There will be some static displays too, a bring-and-buy table, plus seven or eight trade stands from as far away as Victoria and New South Wales.

All in all it’s pretty exciting, but I have a lot of work ahead of me.

And now to the fun part…

I’m planning on building a modular game table for the event that will be raffled off at the end of the show. The boards will be 300mm squares, joined together with magnets. Pictures to follow as I get started.

  1. You are the master of terrain and I look forward to seeing how this one comes together!

All the best on organizing the tournament and hope that everything goes as smooth as possible.
