A little further along

You’re probably sick of seeing the same old gatehouse façade time and time again. Well, this’ll be the last time until I put the roof on ok?

The curtain wall to the left of the gatehouse is coming along nicely. I’ve clad the stonework on a couple of sections and started doing the battlements – now it’s really starting to look like a castle. The pictures below shows a couple of 28mm figures on the wall to give you an idea of scale – it’s huge! It will have a lot of playable surfaces too, and hopefully, I’ll be able to make the roofs removable. I really don’t know how Greg’s scenario will play out with regard to inside the castle wall, but it will look petty cool at least and that’s all I care about. 😉

The images are a little off colour because i took it at night with the flash off – it was not coping with the white plaster very well and everything was over-exposed.

Mmmm, battlements

I tried out a paint scheme for the stonework on the internal wall about the gate itself. I’m pretty happy with it – it gives a nice contrast with the timber framework, and should look great with ivy growing up it.

  1. I really like the paint scheme you’ve come up with for the stonework…very nicely done Alan! 🙂
