Day 7 – What is the favourite character you have played?
Ghath the half-elf Bard.
Ghath was a troubadour (and troublemaker) in the market places of the Parsanteum, a vast sprawling metropolis at the centre of the trade routes between East and West. Rumour had it that the ruler of the city was actually a golden dragon in human form. By some clever sleight of hand, Ghath managed to ‘liberate’ a wind instrument – an intricate horn made of what appeared to be bone – from an important looking person who had paused to admire a trinket in the market. Little did Ghath realise that this item was a message to the matriarch of Parsanteum. It was made from the bone of a young golden dragon – one of her children in fact, and was being delivered as evidence of the seriousness of her enemies.
This was to have been the catalyst for a series of adventures in and around Parsanteum, but things didn’t play out that way with the group and the story came to nothing. But it was a macabre and wonderfully sinister plot hook, it would have been fun to explore. Perhaps another day.
See day 4’s post for more details of his life.
